This just means that as you relax in a normal Craniosacral session, some unresolved issues may surface. While Craniosacral therapy is not a talking therapy, people very often experience insight and solutions while lying on the table. This can be due to the mind being preoccupied elsewhere, or relaxing completely ! As we rest, our deepest wisdom becomes accessible .
With some issues change happens more slowly. Trauma may need to be addressed. This may require a very slow and sensitive process.
As a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist, I have been trained to offer a safe, non-intrusive space, for the body/mind to work within its own intelligence and at its own pace.
Having worked as a psychotherapist / mental health social worker for decades, I now know that the wisdom and knowledge I have gleaned also becomes accessible to my clients in a session. Of course I spend a few minutes discovering why my client comes to me, but the major ‘work’ occurs on the table. All other modalities that I have studied become accessible.
Body Orientated Psychotherapy may be beneficial for:
depression
anxiety/stress
post-traumatic stress
deep relaxation
process of dying
the elderly
trauma
confusion
sleep issues
eating issues
Some of the other modalities I have worked with include family, couple and individual counselling, a two year energy healing course, meditation, yoga, tai chi, Voice Dialogue, Sandplay and Reiki. I also have a passionate engagement with the First nations perspectives, and learning more about the wonderful Ngan’gityemerri call ‘Dadirri’ : deep listening (the name brought to Western consciousness by Miriam-Rose Ungunmerr miriamrosefoundation.org.au).
